Advising Plan Request

Use the form below to submit a request to have a Summer and/or Fall 2025 advising plan created with upcoming semester course recommendations and alternative options. An academic advisor will review your request, create a proposed class plan for you through Navigate, and send you a message in Navigate within 3-5 business days about how to find your completed plan. 

Advising plan requests are offered as an alternative to appointments. Created plans are the same type of advising notes received during a 30-minute advising appointment.  


Please review the guidelines below:  

  • You must have a major declared in the College of Health Professions.
    • If you need to make curriculum changes, please call 512-245-3506 for instructions before submitting your request.
  • You must be a currently enrolled/continuing student.
  • Course options will be provided based on your current Texas State major and minor.
  • Your academic advisor may take 3-5 business days to complete your academic plan.  
    • Wait times may increase during high-volume advising periods.  
    • We recommend you request a plan well in advance of your registration access time.
  • If you haven’t received your plan by the time your registration begins, do not wait to register. Please use your degree audit and the university catalog as a guide to try and pick classes, then you can use your advising plan to make changes later as needed.  
  • A message will be sent through TXST Navigate once the plan has been completed.  
  • If the academic advisor creating your advising plan has questions or concerns about your plan, you may be required to schedule a one-on-one appointment with an advisor.  
  • Your academic advisor does not have access to your financial aid, VA, or scholarship records and will not know the GPA, credit hour, etc. requirements of your aid package. Please request an Advising Plan with credit hours sufficient to meet both your academic and financial aid, VA or scholarship requirements.   
  • Plans are contingent upon courses being offered in specific terms. Once the schedule of classes is released, you must confirm that the desired courses will be offered that semester.

Do you have any college credit you have not reported or transferred to Texas State? For example, Advanced Placement (AP) passed exams, International Baccalaureate (IB) passed exams, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) passed exams, military credit, or classes currently in progress or previously completed at another institution. *

Are you planning to take classes outside of Texas State in the summer or fall? *

6 hours is full-time in the summer semester. 12+ hours is full-time in the fall semester.

Proposed Summer/Fall 2025 schedule

 Do you have a proposed schedule for Summer 2025 or Fall 2025? If so, please list the courses you would like to take below.  

  • The advisor will review your proposed schedule and verify if adjustments need to be made. 
  • If your proposed schedule has fewer hours than what you indicated you would like to take for summer or fall, an advisor will suggest courses from your degree plan to hit your target, if possible.
