Application for the BSHIM Degree program

The BSHIM would be your first bachelors degree

HIT Progression to BSHIM

You have completed an associates degree in HIT and are progressing to the BSHIM degree

Post-Baccalaureate

You have completed a non-HIM bachelor's degree or higher and are pursuing the RHIA credential

The BSHIM degree is offered in a traditional classroom setting, via online delivery, or hybrid delivery. The on-campus method is recommended for students new to healthcare and those within a reasonable commute to the Round Rock Campus. *

On-campus in Round Rock (Fall start only, no online course fees, recommended for students new to healthcare)

Recommended for students within reasonable commute distance and especially those new to healthcare.

Hybrid (Fall start only, synchronous classes on campus and online, electronic course fee applies)

Recommended for students unable to participate on campus and who appreciate the benefits of real-time engagement with faculty and classmates. Electronic course fee of $50/credit hour applies.

Accelerated Online Program (Fall, Spring, or Summer start, fully asynchronous delivery, 8-week classes, electronic course fee applies)

Available for students with schedules that do not permit engagement with live classes. Designed for students with healthcare experience who can complete courses in an accelerated 8-week asynchronous format. Electronic course fee of $50/credit hour applies.
